Woman killed in 2-vehicle crash this morning

LISBON

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon Post is investigating a two-car fatal crash that occurred this morning.

The accident happened at about 10:34 a.m., according to a patrol release, when a red Mitsubishi Montero Sport driven by Melvin D. Werling of East Liverpool struck a guardrail on state Route 170 in Middleton Township, crossed the center line and struck a chrome Chevy Silverado driven by Cary S. Winters of Negley.

Jacqueline P. Werling, a passenger in the Montero, no age or address available, was pronounced dead at the scene. The OSHP said alcohol was not a factor, and the crash is still under investigation.
