Warren man dies in auto crash in Portage County today

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the early morning accident

RAVENNA

The Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a one-car crash that took the life of a Warren man early Saturday morning in Nelson Township.

John A. Debon III, 35, was driving westbound at high speeds on state Route 305 in a 2011 Volvo S40 when he went off the right side of Nicholson Road in Portage County and struck two trees.

Debon was the only person in the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt, according to a patrol release.

Community Fire and EMS had to extricate Dubon who was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to the morgue at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.

His vehicle sustained severe damage, and it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played any part.

The accident remains under investigation.
