Festival will offer entertainment, games and tournaments

The Mount Carmel Society and Holy Rosary Church annual festival kickoff spaghetti dinner is set for July 14 at Mount Carmel Society Social Hall, 102 E. Washington St.
Carryouts will be available from 11 a.m. to noon, and sit-down dinners and carryouts will continue to 5 p.m. The cost per dinner is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 10; those 5 and under eat free.
The 118th Lowellville Mount Carmel Society Festival takes place July 16 through 20 as follows:
July 16: The annual festival parade starts at 9 a.m. at the social hall and will proceed to Holy Rosary Church. High Mass will follow, and Bishop George V. Murry will participate.
July 17: The festival opening day will begin at 6 p.m. at the festival grounds. Steve Fazzini will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 followed by Mount Carmel Society Italian Band. The traditional Baby Doll Dance will start at 10:30. Boccie and morra tournaments are scheduled to begin.
July 18: Orr Donatelli Day will be take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. At this time, special-needs children are invited to the festival grounds for a meal prepared by the Mount Carmel Society Ladies Club and time on the rides. The festival will open for the public at 6 p.m. with the Mount Carmel Society Italian Band performing and a return of the Baby Doll Dance scheduled at 11.
July 19: The grounds open at 6 p.m. Performances by Steve Fazzini and the Mount Carmel Society Italian Band are scheduled, and the Baby Doll Dance will start at 11. Boccie and morra tournaments continue.
July 20: The festival gets under way at 6 p.m. with entertainment by Mount Carmel Society Italian Band. Boccie and morra tournaments will conclude, and a fireworks display will take place at 11:59 to complete the festival.
Food, rides and games also will be featured each night.
