Canfield High School senior art student Adam Nye was awarded a scholarship from the Canfield Junior Women’s League for his piece ‘Berlin.’ The organization asked the entries to portray the theme ‘Beautiful Ohio.’
Nye’s piece was chosen from four submissions for the $1,000 prize. Students submitting pieces must have been graduating seniors who were incorporating studying art in continuing their education.
According to Anne Liller, of the Junior Women’s League, this is the second year the organization has offered the art scholarship.
“The Junior Women’s League has an interest in fine arts and we thought this scholarship was a great way to promote the arts in Canfield. We collaborated with Canfield High School art teacher Kate Bernard and we feel it is a very successful and wonderful collaboration,” Liller said.
Nye was presented with his scholarship at the Canfield High School Senior Awards Assembly and his winning piece was displayed at the Canfield High School Art Show.
