Boardman United Methodist Preschool(B.U.M.P.) hosted an open house for potential attendees May 16.
The school is a non-profit preschool and daycare with child care available year round for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. In addition, B.U.M.P offers a school-age program for summers and holidays.
“Our center provides a safe, faith-based setting with a staff that demonstrates love, warmth and caring,” said Mandi Schialdone, B.U.M.P administrator.
B.U.M.P’s preschool year runs from September through May.
“We are currently registering children for our summer programs and for the 2013-2014 school year,” said Schialdone. “Spaces are filling up quickly so it is best to call or stop in for a tour as soon as possible.”
B.U.M.P offers open houses three to four times per year.
“We want the community to be able to get acquainted with our center,” said Schialdone.
The school has been named a three-star award center in the Step Up to Quality award program.
According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services website, Step Up To Quality recognizes early care and education programs that exceed quality benchmarks over and above Ohio’s licensing standards.
“After two unannounced verification visits by a Step Up to Quality Licensing Specialist, we received the official call that B.U.M.P. not only renewed our one star rating, but we also earned our second and third stars,” said Schialdone.
