Dobbins Elementary School relaxed and played games during fun day June 6.
“We all look forward to the annual fun here at Dobbins,” said Cheryl Borovitcky, school principal.
In addition to the games and activities, Dobbins PTO had a two new surprises for the students.
“The kids are excited about the obstacle course and the Kona ice, which are new this year,” said Jackie Marantis, PTO chair of fun day.
Marantis said fun day is a reward for the students.
“We do it to reward the kids for their hard work throughout the year,” said Marantis. “It’s a chance for them to relax and have a good time.”
Preparation for the day began in January with Marantis putting thought into each game the children would play.
“Days like this make it worth it,” said Marantis.
This year, 72 parents volunteered to helped make the fun day a success.
“We could not have pulled it off without the volunteers,” said Marantis.
Borovitcky commended the PTO for their hard work.
“The PTO did a fabulous job,” said Borovitcky.
