Police: Landscaper behind Pa. sucker-bite attack
EBENSBURG, Pa.
State police are looking for a landscaper who gave a western Pennsylvania man a sucker bite on his neck after luring the victim into his truck with the promise of a $20 grass-cutting job.
Troopers from Ebensburg don’t know the suspect’s name, but say the incident happened about 4 p.m. Sunday.
That’s when the 21-year-old victim told police he was approached by the older, bald, tattooed man riding in landscaping truck.
Police say the victim got into the man’s truck when he offered him the grass-cutting job a few blocks away, only to have the landscaper attack him. Police say the landscaper also hit the victim with a ratchet three or four times after the sucker bite.
The victim broke free by kicking the landscaper in the ribs and called police.
Teacher’s retirement ends picture-day streak
DALLAS
A Texas teacher’s streak of wearing the same outfit for his school photograph is coming to an end after 40 years with his retirement.
It all started as an accident. Dale Irby told the Dallas Morning News that when he received his photo in his second year he was embarrassed to discover he’d worn the same polyester shirt and brown sweater vest as the first year.
His wife dared him to wear it again the third year. Then Irby thought five would be funny. He says, “After five pictures it was like, ‘Why stop?’”
The 63-year-old Garland resident retired this year as an elementary-school physical-education teacher in the Richardson district, north of Dallas.
