Be prepared: Have a fire extinguisher, water supply, hose or bucket of water nearby.
Assign someone as fireman: Someone should be assigned to watch the trajectory of each launch and be prepared with water in case of an emergency.
Keep fireworks outside: Make sure the area is clear, open and free from overhead obstructions.
Find solid ground: Use a hard, flat surface of some type to launch fireworks.
One at a time: Set off only one firework at a time and never try to relight a firework that won’t launch.
Adults only: Never allow children to handle fireworks.
Be responsible: Do not use fireworks when drinking or using any controlled substance.
Be careful: Always light fireworks with an extended lighting device.
Keep clear: Light fireworks and then get away quickly.
