Boardman chief, tactical officers respond to Cook Ave. tonight

BOARDMAN

Police taped off a large crime scene tonight on Cook Avenue, off South Avenue, a street of multiple apartment buildings.

Police Chief Jack Nichols arrived at the scene at about 11 p.m. and was assessing the situation, but had little information except to say no homicide had taken place.

Residents of multiple buildings were gathering on the street to watch events unfold.

About a dozen police cars, tactical officers in full gear and firefighters were there.

Police with flashlights were searching for something in the front yard of the taped-off building.
