Six Liberty Township weekend traffic stops result in drug arrests.

Police seized crack cocaine, marijuana, heroin, pharmaceuticals and nearly $4,000 in cash during weekend traffic stops.

Of the six arrests recorded, five of them were filed by officer Raymond Buhala, who works alongside police dog Capo.

“Those particular officers are really aggressive when it comes to checking for drugs,” said Liberty Chief Richard Tisone, referring to the K-9 unit.

“That’s what they normally do on a good weekend.”

Turdarrell Johnson of North Lane Avenue, Youngstown, fled from police on foot after Buhala told him that they believed he had drugs in his possession.

He was stun-gunned by police as he was running away, and is now charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest in addition to possession charges for crack cocaine and pharmaceuticals.

In a separate incident, Matthew Dubose, of Catalina Avenue, Youngstown, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and heroin.

He pulled into a driveway on Logan Way very abruptly after police began following his car.

He told officers he wanted to buy the house that he had pulled in to, but officers told him that the owner, who was cutting the grass at the time, had no intention of selling the property.

Reports stated that Dubose had $3,847 on him.

Four other stops resulted in arrests and seizures of drug paraphernalia.
