Road to close
AUSTINTOWN
The Mahoning County engineer will close Kirk Road, between Turner Road and state Route 46, from 9:30 to 11 p.m. Wednesday in order to more safely facilitate the fireworks show at Austintown Township Park.
Traffic will be detoured along Route 46, Turner and New roads.
Demonstration set
WARREN
Local community leaders will demonstrate at noon today against a Social Security benefit cut and show support for Medicaid expansion.

The chained Consumer Price Index would cut Social Security benefits by changing the cost-of-living adjustment formula and Medicaid expansion that benefits low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
Attendees will chain themselves together in front of the Warren Social Security Administration, 258 E. Market St., and march to U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan’s office, 197 W. Market St., where they will be joined by a representative from Ryan’s office and state Sen. Capri Cafaro of Liberty, D-32nd.
Hubbard council
Hubbard
The dump truck that moves earth from newly dug graves at Hubbard Union Cemetery is so old that replacement parts are no longer made for it, city councilman-at-large J.D. Silvidi said during a council meeting Monday.
If recent temporary repairs fail or the truck breaks down again, purchasing a replacement would not be possible on the cemetery’s budget.
The cemetery fund may seek assistance from Hubbard Township, Silvidi said.
