A Canfield woman, who said she suffered a leg fracture after stepping into a deep hole hidden by grass along a gravel service road on the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, has sued the park district and Mahoning County for more than $25,000.

The lawsuit, which demands a jury trial, was filed Friday in common pleas court by Mary Moskalik, of Cool Road, who said her injury occurred June 30, 2011, causing her to incur $52,654 in medical bills due to the park district’s negligence.

Mill Creek MetroParks leases the educational farm from the county.

MetroParks Treasurer Kevin Smith said the park system’s insurance com- pany is aware of the claim, and the company’s lawyers will handle it, if necessary.

County Prosecutor Paul J. Gains declined to comment on the complaint.

Signs posted at the entrances to the farm’s gravel roads warn: “Caution: Working Farm.”
