St. Joseph Health Center and Cochlear Americas are offering a free hearing-loss seminar from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Outpatient Surgery Center, 1934 Niles-Cortland Road NE, Howland.

During the seminar, physicians, audiologists and patients will discuss the Cochlear Baha System/¢, an implantable hearing solution and alternative to traditional hearing aids. The Cochlear Baha System/¢ is a bone- conduction system that uses the body’s natural ability to deliver sound. Dr. Jared Bunevich, an otolaryngologist, HMHP Physician Associates and Chris Hasson of Cochlear Americas will lead the educational discussion.

Patients who use bone- conduction systems, which are suitable for use by adults, adolescents and children, also will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served, and parking is free.

Meeting Tuesday

WARREN

The South West Neighborhood Association will have its next meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at New Freedom Baptist Church, 1590 Tod Ave SW. The meeting will focus on several items, including continued restoration of Southwest Memorial Park.

Dinner and Desserts

WARREN

Someplace Safe, Trumbull County’s only domestic violence agency, will have its 10th annual Dinner and Desserts fundraiser from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at DiVieste’s Banquet Rooms, 754 North River Road.

It features a buffet, basket raffle, 50/50 drawing and silent auction. Dessert samples will be provided by Warren Baking Co., Cookies to Go, Just Pizzelles, Tables of Temptations, the Chocolate Lady and others.

Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple and must be purchased in advance by calling 330-393-3003.

Officials re-elected

CORTLAND

Richard Houk of Newton Township and Peter Kepner of Hartford Township were re-elected as supervisors of the Trumbull Soil & Water Conservation District and were sworn in by Trumbull County Commissioner Frank Fuda recently.

Houk is completing his 15th year on the board and is vice chairman. He and his wife, Trudy, own an 87-acre farm in Newton Township. He is active in the Trumbull County Farm Bureau, Western Reserve Resource and Conservation District and is a fair board member.

Kepner is completing his 12th year on the board. He and his wife, Mary, operate a 250-acre crop farm. He is a member of the Trumbull County Farm Bureau and Trumbull County Agriculture Society.

The conservation district assists residents and property owners with natural-resource issues.
