NWS issues winter weather advisory for Mahoning Valley; freezing rain and sleet expected

YOUNGSTOWN

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday.

The winter weather advisory is in effect from 1 am to 10 a.m. Monday.

Freezing rain and sleet are expected after midnight with accumulations of as much as 1 inch.

It will be not as cool with lows in the upper 20s overnight.

Rain and freezing rain will continue in the morning, then rain likely in the afternoon. Highs Monday afternoon will be in the middle 40s.
