BOYS BASKETBALL

Niles 85, Beaver Local 84

NILES

Ray Russ scored 31 points and the Red Dragons (9-6, 4-3 All-American Conference American Division) used a 30-point fourth quarter to rally past the Beavers (10-7, 2-5). Justin Lopes added 19 points, including five of Niles’ 11 3-pointers, and Chris Parry (13) and James Tate (11) also scored in double figures. Troy Hudson led Beaver Local with 28 points, Zack Mick had 19 and Jared Lyder added 17.

Richmond Heights 74, Warren JFK 59

RICHMOND HEIGHTS

John Hilty scored 18, Dominic Naples had 13 and A.J. Grant scored 11 but Warren JFK was outscored 18-7 in the third quarter and couldn’t record. Arthur Christian led Richmond with 25 points and Kevin Hudson had 21.

Western Reserve Academy 57, Brookfield 39

HUDSON

Paster Barba and John Saucier led Western Reserve Academy with 17 and 14 points, respectively. For the Warriors (10-2), Jeremy Quinlan scored 21 points and made six rebounds.

Springfield 64, United 26

HANOVERTON

Mark Schuler and Jared McTigue each scored 13 points for the Tigers. Jake Ohlin scored nine points and Eoghan Bees nine. For the Eagles, Caleb Conser scored 10 points.

Lisbon 61, Jackson-Milton 38

NORTH JACKSON

Austin Rutecki produced a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils over the Bluejays. Corey Brammer (11 points) and Matt Spencer (10) also scored in double figures. Lisbon cruised after racing to a 35-12 halftime lead. Josh Liberati had nine assists and Spencer had eight rebounds for the Blue Devils. Mike Assion led Jackson-Milton with 10 points.

Lowellville 64, Sebring 62, 2OT

SEBRING

Nick Ballone scored 27 points, including nine over the two overtime sessions, and Paulo DePasquale added 16. Dylan Mick led Sebring with 21.

Boardman 56, Canton GlenOak 40

BOARDMAN

Kelly Tomcsanyi led the Spartans (7-10, 3-8 Federal League) with 22 points. Emily Gibbs netted 15. For GlenOak (9-9, 3-8), Mattie Repp scored 15 points.

Howland 57, Jefferson 50

HOWLAND

Trisha Ginnis scored 18 points to lead the Tigers (10-7, 4-4 AAC American). Gabby Cvengros contributed nine points and nine rebounds. For Jefferson (5-11), Jessica Becker scored 16 points while Lee Ann Farr had 14 points and 18 rebounds.

East 45, Youngstown Christian 44

YOUNGSTOWN

Chmicka Kennedy scored 17 points and Ashley Baker added 12 for East (5-10), which survived a big rally by YCS. Cashoa Moyer scored 15 with 10 rebounds for the Eagles (9-7), who trailed 29-13 at halftime before tying the game at 35 entering the fourth quarter.

LaBrae 64, Mathews 37

VIENNA

Somer McCoy and Ashlee Stubbs each scored 16 points and LaBrae jumped out to a 17-9 lead after the first quarter. Lauren Rutherford added 12 for the Vikings. For Mathews (8-7, 5-4), Jacki Rhine had 15 points and Dana Omerzo had seven assists, three steals and five rebounds.

Canfield 80, Champion 28

CANFIELD

The Cardinals (17-1) started the game with a 24-5 run and cruised past the Golden Flashes (9-8l). Sabrina Mangapora led Canfield with 17 points, Rachel Tinkey had 14, Jamie Giambattista scored 11 and Kayla Barko added 10. Mackenzie Kiser led Champion with 14 points. The Cardinals forced the Golden Flashes into 35 turnovers.

West Branch 51, Salem 36

BELOIT

The Warriors rode a 19-5 first-quarter spurt to a Northeastern Buckeye Conference victory. Melinda Trimmer led West Branch (15-2, 11-2 NBC) with 22 points and Pavin Heath added 14, including three 3-pointers. Megan Lehwald, Lindsay Foster and Ciera Trybend each had eight points for Salem (4-12, 3-8).
