Snow dampens spring semester at YSU

More than 2 inches of snow fell on the Mahoning Valley on Friday, creating hazardous conditions for many drivers. Some students attending the second week of spring semester came out of class, above, to find their vehicles covered in snow. At left, other students entered class with little accumulation on the ground before exiting to see a white blanket covering the sidewalks. The snowfall this month, however, was 6 inches below average as of Friday. Mahoning Valley residents may experience a little snow today but should expect little to no accumulation, according to the National Weather Service. Highs should be in the middle 20s for most of the day, and temperatures may drop to the single digits tonight with a chance of flurries. Sunday’s high may reach the upper 20s with partly sunny skies before the temperature drops to the low 20s for the evening. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 40s Monday and the 50s by Tuesday.
