A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Jan. 1

Drug abuse: Police charged Christian Pascarella, 31, of 180 Colonial Drive, Canfield, with drug abuse of suspected cocaine after his arrest in the city.

Jan. 11

Warrant: Police arrested Shaun Powelson, 27, of Tallmadge, on a Canfield mayor’s court warrant for failure to appear.

Drug abuse: Police charged Aaron Cunningham, 18, of 558 Parkwood Ave., Youngstown, with drug abuse for possession of a small bag of suspected after his arrest at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

Jan.13

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged Conner Fry, 20, of 1452 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, with possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest in the city.

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged Lucas Imhoff, 20, of Akron, with possession of drug paraphernalia, a black and brown glass pipe with suspected marijuana residue, after his arrest in the city.

Jan. 14

Drug trafficking: Police charged Damond Brown, 19, of 6592 Mill Creek Blvd., Boardman, with drug trafficking after his arrest in the city. There also was a warrant for Brown out of Boardman for domestic violence.

AUSTINTOWN

Jan. 14

Drug offense: A false prescription was called in at Walgreens, 3800 Tippecanoe Road.

Theft: $7,000 was stolen by a woman at an apartment in the 50 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: A credit card was stolen from a mailbox and $940 was charged on it at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Jan. 15

Theft: Cash, a phone charger and a gift card were taken from an auto parked at a home in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.

Criminal damaging: Tires were damaged on a vehicle parked at an Idlewood Road home.

Theft: A theft was reported at Huntington Bank, 6010 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: Police charged Keith Jarrell, 57, of 660 N. Four Mile Run Road, with assault after his arrest in the township.

Domestic violence: Police charged Stanley Sedmack, 49, of 119 Marcia Drive, with the crime after his arrest in the township.

Theft: An Xbox game system was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 5000 block of North Rockwell Road.

Theft: A Playstation3 video-game console was taken from Aaron’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Police said they have a suspect in telecommunications harassment at a home in the 3000 block of Cannon Road.

Jan. 16

Theft: Police charged Shamika Delaine, 25, of 1047 Fairview Ave., Youngstown, with cashing a fake check at Chase Bank, 4243 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: Three males assaulted a victim at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Theft: Money was taken from an account belonging to the owner of a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Theft: A laptop computer was taken from a vehicle parked at Five Guys Burgers, 107 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Jan. 17

Theft: Lottery money was taken by an employee at Beverage Depot, 6300 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Police charged Shaina Crish, 23, of 155 N. Beverly Drive, with the crime after her arrest in the township.

Jan. 19

Warrant: Police arrested Beth Fortunato, 43, of 248 Curry Place, Youngstown, on a warrant for felony theft.

Theft: Police charged Richard Backer, 22, of 131 N. Kimberly Ave., with theft and possession of criminal tools after his arrest in the township.

Warrant: Police arrested Nicholas Bortmas, 21, of 3657 Lynnhaven Road, on a warrant for receiving stolen property, and also arrested Randall Hilbert, 34, same address, on a warrant for receiving stolen property.

Warrant: Police arrested Rebecca Stoffer, 36, of 1891 Oak St., Salem, in the township on five warrants for these crimes — soliciting sex, possession of drug-abuse instruments, drug abuse, possession of criminal tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burglary: An attached garage was broken into at a home in the 500 block of Western Place. Nothing was taken.

Warrant: Police arrested Richard Fox, 34, of North Jackson, on a warrant for assault.

Theft: A cat was possibly stolen from a home in the 100 block of Rosemont Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A passenger window to a 2008 Ford F-150 truck was broken out at the Ice House Inn, 5576 W. Webb Road.

Theft: A passenger window of a truck was broken out, and a digital mixer was taken at the Ice House Inn, 5516 W. Webb Road.

Criminal damaging: A passenger window to a 2009 Ford was broken out at the Ice House.

Jan. 20

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to Thomas Wilson, 26, of 2189 Woodgate St., Youngstown, for disorderly conduct.

Disturbance: A domestic dispute was reported, and several males were involved in a fight at a home in the 7000 block of Berry Blossom Drive.

Theft: An iPod was taken from a car parked at a home in the 100 block of South Kimberly Avenue.

Theft: A woman took a wireless touch tablet at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave.

Forgery: Two checks were forged from the account of the victim who lives at a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.

Theft: 12 vehicles were broken into at Polaris, 500 Victoria Road.

Theft: An ex-girlfriend refused to return a checkbook at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Fraud: A wife used her husband’s personal information to open a credit-card account at a home in 4000 block of Nottingham Avenue.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Brittany Peters, 20, of 654 Hazel St., Girard, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Warrant: Police arrested Suehad Awadallah, 21, of 896 E. Third St., Salem, on a warrant for receiving stolen property.

Warrant: Police arrested Robert Oviatt, 22, of 210 Beaver Ave., Niles, on a warrant for violation of a protection order.
