OVI blitzlast week yields 20 traffic stops, 1 arrest

CANFIELD

A corridor enforcement blitz resulted in 20 traffic stops with one arrest by the Mahoning County OVI (operating a motor vehicle under the influence) Task Force last Friday.

Five task-force officers patrolled from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., focusing on Mahoning Avenue, which begins in Youngstown and continues into Austintown.

The arrest made was for a driver 21 and older operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Other stops resulted in one seat-belt citation, one citation for having no operator’s license, one citation for headlights required and one citation for no license plate light.
