Catholic Charities Regional Agency will collect sleeping bags, winter clothing and used and/or new blankets through Feb. 15 to distribute to the homeless.
Donations are being accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at regional offices of Catholic Charities at 2401 Belmont Ave., and 175 Laird Ave. NE, Warren. Also needed are long underwear and tube socks, both in men’s large or extra large.
The agency estimates there are more than 350 homeless people in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
Sheep/goat program

The Ohio State University Extension, 490 S. Broad St., and the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association will offer Sheep and Goat WebEx Programs, which will help local farmers and youth exhibitors from 4-H learn the newest topics in sheep and goat production.
Dr. Eric Gordon, OSU Extension Veterinarian, will host a discussion of necessary vaccination programs for sheep and goat farms on Feb. 4. Dr. Meghan Wulster-Radcliffe, CEO of the American Society of Animal Science, will speak about artificial insemination techniques of sheep and goats on Feb. 11. Jeff McCutcheon and Rory Lewandowski, both of the OSU Extension, will explore the management of pastures and hay fields after a drought Feb. 18. All programs will begin at 7 p.m. at the OSU Extension offices.
