Parents: The late Mary and Stephen Novak.

Siblings: Amelia DeCecco, Mary Droney, William and Daniel Novak, Stephen, John, Joseph and Michael Klema. All are deceased.

Spouse: Michael V. Vargo, whom she married in 1940 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church in Youngstown, died in 1989.

Children: Arlene Getch and Shirley Hood, both of Austintown.

Grandchildren: Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Education: The Rayen School and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Grade School.

Employment: Woolworth’s, Ohio Chair Co. and the T.B. Sanitarium.

Memberships: She is a life member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church and was a member of its seniors group and altar and rosary society. She enjoys playing the Phase 10 card game and feeding the birds.

Additional information: She grew up in “the hollow” and moved to Austintown in 1955. She is called “Auntie” by family, friends and neighbors, who consider her to be a role model of integrity, kindness and love. Her birthday was celebrated by a lunch with family.
