The Austintown Fitch drama club will present its production of “Southern Hospitality,” a play written by Golden Girl writers Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, Jan. 18-19 at 7 p.m. in the Fitch auditorium.

The play offers that same kind of humor as Futrelle sisters – Frankie, Honey Raye, Twink, and Rhonda Lynn fight to save their hometown of Frayo, Texas.

The sisters discover that a salsa-making factory is looking to change locations and in an attempt to save their town, the sisters try to convince the owner of the factory to move there.

The play takes place during one of the town’s most important times of the year – Frayo Days, where the townsfolk will put on a beauty pageant, pet costume parade and a Civil War reenactment.

“It’s a show that has something that all people can relate to, especially in Youngstown right now,” said Paul Farbman, the drama club secretary of publicity. “We all hope to see new businesses coming to our area and bringing our own town to life and I think people will really enjoy seeing that. I also think they’ll love the humor in this play – the jokes just keep coming.”

Tickets will be available at the door and cost $6 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
