Molotov cocktail thrown at house
WARREN
A 65-year-old Comstock Street Northeast man reported that someone threw a Molotov cocktail-type of arson device at the front of his house, hitting just below the window and landing on the porch at 10:45 p.m. Friday.
The man extinguished the fire, reducing the damage to just scorch marks on the brick veneer on the house, said Ken Nussle, Warren fire chief.
Firefighters found a burnt rag smelling like gasoline with remnants of a glass bottle under the window.
Flu shots available
AUSTINTOWN
Mahoning County District Board of Health, 50 Westchester Drive, is offering flu shots from 3:30 to 6 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
The cost for the flu vaccine is $25 for adults and $14.65 for children. High- dose flu vaccine also is available for persons 65 and older. No appointment is necessary. Most private insurances can be billed. People on traditional Medicare and on Medicaid must bring their cards so the cost of the shot can be billed.
