Wilson pleads guilty, gets life in murder of 8-year-old

YOUNGSTOWN — A Youngstown man will spend the remainder of his life in prison for the murder of a sleeping 8-year-old boy on the East Side last summer.

Shawn Wilson pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, improper discharge of a firearm, felonious assault and tampering with evidence in the murder of Bryce Limebaugh. Wilson had initially faced the death penalty, but in the plea deal with prosecutors the death penalty was taken off the table. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Judge R. Scott Krichbaum presided over the case in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
