Canfield won the boys team title and Boardman placed second in the girls competition Saturday at the Northeast Aquatics Conference Championships. Boardman’s Ryan Bailey — named the male swimmer of the meet — won the 100 butterfly in a time of 50.57 to set a meet record by Spartan swimmers. The Boardman 200 IM girls relay of Gaby DeAscentis, Brooke Bailey, Jessica Hilk and Colleen Manning won in a time of 1:52.5 for another meet mark. The Spartans’ 400 freestyle relay of Jordyn Markovitch, Hilk, Brooke Bailey and Manning won in a meet-record time of 3:42.69. Manning also set a Boardman record in the 200 freestyle (1:59.84) while Bailey set a Spartan record in the 500 freestyle (5:19.57). Manning won the 100 and 200 freestyle races, while DeAscentis won the 100 backstroke. Warren Harding’s Emily Thirion won the 100 backstroke. Canfield’s Connor Brady won the boys 100 backstroke. Warren Harding’s Dylan Thirion won the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and joined teammates Zachary Williams, Michael Miller and Sam Angelo in winning the 200 freestyle relay.

Perry Pin City Invitational
PERRY
David Labra (152) and John Poullas (170) pinned their opponents in the finals to win individual titles and Canfield finished second as a team in the Perry Pin City Invitational. Host Perry won the team title with 375 points. Canfield was next with 369.5. Labra pinned Madison’s Aaron Sweeney in 3:11. Poullas pinned Perry’s Ryan Sill in 2:26. Canfield’s C.J. Frost (138) and Curtis Burns (285) each placed third.
