The Poland varsity wrestling team lost its first match of the season, falling to rival Canfield 42-24.

Poland did win some big matches, including freshman wrestlers Dante Ginnetti and Darren Goodin, scoring the only team pins of the day and Anthony Audi defeating Canfield senior Steven Hamilton, 5-2.

Poland’s Bruno Spottleson, Anthony Mancini and John Berndt all scored wins.

Heading into the Kenston Tournament, Dante Ginnetti (106), Anthony Mancini (145), John Berndt (152), Anthony Audi (160) and Mike Audi (170) all boasted undefeated records.
