Protestant Family Service installs officers and board


YOUNGSTOWN

Elder Christopher McKee of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., installed officers and board members of Protestant Family Service during the annual dinner meeting Feb. 18 at the church.

The Rev. Gwen Johnson is president; Jeanne Cotters Monroe, vice president; June Ewing, secretary; and Harold Blackann, treasurer. New board members are Cynthia Capp, Carol Reed and Cynthia Renner, who join Jewel Black, Paulette Brown, Karen Hanousek, John Einfalt and Rita Jemison.

Area pastors and churches were recognized for continued support of the PFS ministry, and pianist Nathan Stephens entertained.

PFS is celebrating its 69th year of service to the community. The nonprofit agency provides monetary assistance with utilities, rent and life-sustaining medications and operates an on-site food pantry. PFS receives donations from churches, church groups, individuals and organizations and applies for grants to fulfill its mission. Jacqueline Burley is director.
