POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Feb. 19
Burglary: To a residence in the 8200 block of Cliffview Drive, from which 200 feet of copper piping was stolen.
Feb. 22
Arrests: Police on a traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and Pennsylvania Avenue took into custody Lanisha J. Holbert, 34, and Chavon L. Conley, 25, both of 7443 North Lima Road, Poland, on warrants. Holbert was charged with promoting prostitution, a fourth-degree felony; Conley faced a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing.
BOARDMAN
Feb. 21
Theft: A man stole a $500 leather jacket from Men’s Wearhouse, 7310 Market St.
Attempted felonious assault: A Market Street woman alleged a neighbor drove toward and stopped her vehicle inches from the accuser before backing up and intentionally trying to run her over.
Burglary: Took place in the 7700 block of Amberwood Trail through a rear door. Among items stolen were a $1,500 gold wristwatch and $400.
Theft: A man who had lost his wallet at an East Midlothian Boulevard store reported finding it, though $425 was missing.
Harassment: An Angiline Drive man said a former friend has sent him more than 150 unwanted emails and text messages.
Theft: Jackovia A. Johnson, 38, of 8201 Warren-Sharon Road, Masury, and Victor Peterman, 56, same address, were charged in the theft of seven DVDs valued at $203 from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 900 block of Mathews Road was found with a damaged rearview mirror.
Theft: Police apprehended 31-year-old Joseph L. Pizzulo before charging Pizzulo, of 1197 Adelaide Ave. SE, Warren, with taking five items from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Vandalism: A former tenant reportedly damaged an apartment in the 5700 block of Sheridan Road.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Shadyside Drive resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Clarence V. Wright, 128 W. Second St., East Liverpool, on a felony warrant from Columbiana County accusing him of failing to appear in court on a charge of receiving stolen property.
Theft: Jennifer L. Mills, 30, of 2685 Rexford Road, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of nine articles of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.
Feb. 22
Drugs: A traffic stop on Market Street led to a citation charging 18-year-old Joseph W. Allen Jr., 3511 Kreiger Lane, Youngstown, with marijuana possession when, police said, a bag with 16.4 grams of suspected marijuana was found.
Theft: Authorities booked 37-year-old Laurie L. Putman on a theft charge. Putman, of 125 E. Marion Ave., Youngstown, was accused of stealing $205 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
Theft: A Struthers woman reported her wallet stolen while in an office building in the 5500 block of Market Street.
Arrest: Anthony J. Antonas, 32, of 1753 Lemont Drive, Poland, was taken into custody during a traffic stop. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge from Campbell.
Child endangerment: Police on Interstate 680 stopped 39-year-old Ronnie M. Cullins, 1614 Adelaide Ave. SE, Warren, who was wanted on a warrant from Warren charging him with child endangering.
Theft: A man and a woman stole a $729 electronic tablet device from Verizon Wireless, 1320 Boardman-Poland Road.
Menacing: An employee of a Market Street store reported getting threatening text messages while at work.
Criminal mischief: Someone drove through and damaged part of a lawn in the 300 block of Argyle Avenue.
Feb. 23
Theft: Authorities serving a search warrant arrested 52-year-old Edward G. Easton at his home, 80 Alburn Drive, Boardman, on a theft charge after a pack of cigars and a lighter were stolen from Smoker Friendly, 4627 Market St. Easton also was wanted on a bench warrant related to a probation-violation charge.
Theft: Four 22-inch wheels and tires, as well as a 47-inch flat-screen TV, were taken from a residence in the 900 block of Anderson Drive.
Assaults: Police responded to a fight between two women at the Southern Park Mall, where one of the women reported having been spit on and the other said she was punched.
Citation: Officers investigating a vehicular crash on Southern Boulevard cited Polly A. Crytzer, 42, of 5120 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, charging her with operating a vehicle impaired.
Menacing: A Straley Lane woman said a former boyfriend has sent her multiple unwanted text messages and showed up unannounced at her residence.
Drugs: Mathew J. Morris, 25, faced a felony count of trafficking in drugs when, authorities said, a police dog led to a candy box with about 10 grams of suspected marijuana, a digital scale, a suspected marijuana pipe and charred marijuana in a bowl during a traffic stop on Market Street. The Painesville man also was cited on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Feb. 24
Theft: A woman stole miscellaneous grocery items from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Breaking and entering: Officers charged 23-year-old Lindsay M. Stine and 33-year-old Joseph A. Shura Jr., both of 8150 Tod Ave., Boardman, with breaking and entering. Stine and Shura were accused of removing computers and accessories, refrigerators and other property from 14 work trailers on nearby Karago Drive.
Theft: A refrigerator, a dishwasher and a stove were among items taken from a home in the 100 block of Terrace Drive.
Harassment: A Trenholm Road woman said she’s received two weeks’ worth of such calls and voicemail messages.
Domestic violence: Jessica L. Dashield, 22, of 1600 Marr Road, Pulaski, Pa., was charged with the crime after police responded to a situation at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant in which another woman reported having twice been punched in the face during an argument outside of the eatery.
Arrest: Officers on Wildwood Drive picked up Tammye T. Hardin, 6043 Applecrest Court, Boardman. The 42-year-old Hardin was wanted in Trumbull County on a charge of failing to appear in court.
