Change of Command ceremony planned
VIENNA
Air Force Col. James D. Dignan will be sworn in as the new commander of the 910th Airlift Wing and installation commander of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station during a Change of Command ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Dignan will assume command from Brig. Gen. Brian Dominguez, who is returning to his previous assignment as vice commander of the 22nd Air Force, Dobbins Air Force Base, Ga.
The 910th commander’s most recent assignment was commander of the 446th Operations Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
Man charged with making false alarms

An 18-year-old now faces charges of making false alarms after reporting to Boardman police that he had been kidnapped and assaulted Friday.
Police charged Darius Tyrell Jones, 364 Mathews Road, on Tuesday. He was released from custody pending his court date today in Mahoning County Court.
Jones told police on Friday that he had been walking on Mathews Road when two men in a red pickup truck pulled up next to him and forced him into a vehicle. He also said the passenger in the vehicle punched his face as the truck traveled west, before pushing him out of the vehicle on Southern Boulevard.
Subsequent investigation by police determined this was false.
Comments sought for park bridge
CANFIELD
Mill Creek MetroParks is soliciting public comment for an upcoming improvement project.
Slippery Rock Bridge, located at the southern end of Lake Glacier in Mill Creek Park, will have steel components painted along with other minor stone masonry repairs. The bridge will not be closed to vehicular traffic when the project is under construction.
This project is substantially funded by a Federal Highway Administration Transportation Enhancement Grant.
Public comment will be received by the MetroParks through 4:30 p.m. March 15. Submit comments to: Mill Creek MetroParks, RE: Slippery Rock Bridge, P.O. Box 596, Canfield, OH 44406-0596. The project is anticipated to commence in the summer. Call 330-702-3000 with questions.

Kindergarten registration at E.J. Blott Elementary School will begin Monday and last until March 15. Registration packets can be picked up at the school during regular school hours until Friday. Third-graders from Horizon Science Academy, 3403 Southern Blvd., will host a Black History Month wax museum from 11 a.m. to noon today at the school.
