Symphony Society seeks artists for show

The Youngstown Sym-phony Society is seeking professional artists to participate in “Marriage of Music and Art,” an art show to benefit the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra’s educational outreach programs.

The art show will host a preview exhibit and sale at 6 p.m. April 19 and a public show and sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 20, both at the DeYor Performing Arts center, 260 W. Federal St.

Applications and entry fees will be accepted until March 22.

Applicants are encouraged to go to youngstownsymphony.com to register.

Entry fees are payable by MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

All display spaces will be located inside the DeYor. Display spaces will be 10-feet-by-10-feet and arts are not permitted to expand past specified booth dimensions.

Hook up to electricity will be available.

A nonrefundable entry fee is due with each registration.

Artists are reminded that reproductions must be presented, framed or matted in portfolios or bins and cannot be displayed on the walls.

Artists must create 100 percent of all work displayed.

Reproductions should be signed and numbered.

Work displayed should include only the type of work registered by the artist.

Each artist must be present for the VIP preview and public show.

The sale of artwork will be the responsibility of each artist.

Prices must be clearly displayed.

No commissions will be charged by the Youngstown Symphony Society.

No agents can apply.

Accepted mediums for the April show will be two-dimensional work including painting, photography, print making and drawings; glass; ceramic; wearable and nonwearable fiber; sculpture, including metal; wood; and furniture.

To be considered for the April art show, applicants must submit digital images of work and method by which work will be displayed. Only submissions via email in jpeg format will be accepted.
