“Battle for the Elephants” (9 p.m., PBS): “Battle for the Elephants” is a National Geographic documentary that examines the brutal slaughter of African elephants for their tusks — a practice largely fueled by China’s demand for ivory.

“Duck Dynasty” (10 p.m., A&E): Don’t tell Donald and Daffy, but “Duck Dynasty” is a bona fide cable hit. Season 3 kicks off with an episode that has our bearded quack pack heading off for a camping trip and awaiting the dawn of duck season.

‘Power of Few’ star on late-night show

Christian Slater will appear on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” tonight to talk about the film “The Power of Few.” The show begins at 12:35 a.m. on NBC.

Slater is one of the stars of the action-drama film that was written and directed by Boardman native Leone Marucci. The film opened Feb. 15 in Youngstown and Columbus and is expanding to other cities on a weekly basis. “Power of Few” also stars Christopher Walken, Anthony Anderson, Juvenile, Moon Bloodgood and Q’orianka Kilcher.

YSU bands present modern concert

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music will present a concert by the Youngstown State University Concert and University bands with Brandt Payne, conductor, at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., at 8 p.m. today.

The concert will feature contemporary music by an eclectic array of composers including Carter, Gorb, Whitacre and Sousa.

Tickets are $5 ($4 for students and seniors).

Concert for kids at Main Street

COLUMBIANA

The “Cabin Fever: Jammin’ in Your Jammies” concert for children featuring Chip Richter and the Munks will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Main Street Theater, 5 N. Main St. Tickets are $5 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Heartland Christian Preschool.

Lenten concerts by youth chorus

The Salem Youth Chorus, directed by Jon Simsic, will present a series of reflective choral music concerts for Lententide. The program will include chants as well as music by Handel, Gluck, Faure, Ledger, Chilcott and Mozart. A free-will offereing will be collected. Here is the schedule:
