YWCA accepting entries for art show

The YWCA of Youngstown is accepting entries for its 31st annual Women Artists: A Celebration annual art show at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave.

The exhibit will be open June 22 through July 19 and is free and open to the public.

Women artists 18 years and older are eligible to enter original work including painting, drawing, graphics, photography, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, metal work, and computer-generated art. The show will accept CD entries only. There is a limit of five entries per artist and a nonrefundable fee of $10 per entry or $45 for 5 entries. Deadline for entries is April 1.

Peggy Cox, professor of art, and Summer Zickefoose, visiting assistant professor of art from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa., will be co-jurors.

Approximately $1,000 in merit prizes will be awarded. They include an award to a local artist currently residing within 40 miles of the YWCA of Youngstown and a YWCA Award to an entry that reflects the mission of the YWCA, “eliminating racism and empowering women.”
