Mahoning Dems meet today


BOARDMAN — Mahoning County Democratic Party central and executive committees meet at 5:30 p.m. today to consider election endorsements and amendments to the party’s constitution.

The committees will meet in St. Luke Church Hall, 5235 South Ave., to consider

issuing endorsements in the May 7 Democratic primary elections for Youngstown mayor and

at-large seats on Struthers City Council.

Committee members also will consider endorsing the proposed Freedom to Marry and Religious Freedom amendment to the Ohio Constitution that will appear on the Nov. 5 general-election ballot.

In addition, members of the two committees will vote to ratify a number of changes to the party’s constitution. Atty. David Betras is party chairman.
