Circus tickets for sport gear

Feld Entertainment and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will partner with the Youngstown Police Athletic League (PAL) on a recreation and sports equipment drive from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Covelli Centre.

The first 200 people to donate new or used (but in good condition) balls, gloves, racquets or other sports equipment will receive a ticket voucher redeemable for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus show “Built to Amaze!” playing the Covelli Centre for eight shows April 5-7.

The Youngstown PAL offers recreation and sports opportunities to at-risk youths. It will use equipment it collects in its programming.

The PAL also will accept donations of gear for flag football, skiing, snowboarding and golf, as well as video-game consoles, video games and accessories.

Show times for circus are 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 5; 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 6; and 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 7.

Tickets are now on sale at the Covelli box office, allTicketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com and at 1-800-745-3000. Prices range from $14 to $70.

“Built to Amaze!” features ringmaster Andre McClain plus more than 110 of the world’s best circus performers along with 95 exotic and domestic animals. New acts will include the comedic animal presenting duo Alex and Irina Emelin of Russia, and the Tower Tumblers, a troupe of competitive aerial athletes from Ukraine.
