Mathcounts winners


Students from 23 middle and junior-high schools in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties competed earlier this month in MATHCOUNTS, a competition that tests their math skills, at Youngstown State University. Winners:

Top six teams: Boardman Glenwood Middle*, Hubbard Middle, Poland Middle, Lisbon David Anderson, William S. Guy and Howland Middle schools.

*Teams to compete at state contest March 9 in Columbus.

Most improved school: Lisbon David Anderson.

Mathbowl champs: Hubbard Middle School.

Top six individuals: Nicholis Adducci, Hubbard Middle School; Sam Delatore, Poland Middle School; Bobby Long, Canfield Village Middle School; Pranav Padmanabhan, Boardman Glenwood Middle School; Aarom Kemats, Lisbon David Anderson School; and Ahmed Amireh, William S. Guy Middle School.

Individuals not on top six teams also competing at state contest as individuals: Bobby Long, Canfield Village Middle; Aaron Kemats, Lisbon David Anderson; Ahmed Amireh, William S. Guy Middle; Max Lee, Canfield Village Middle; Mickey McIntyre, Howland Middle; and Aaron Coates, St. Rose School.
