Key objectives

Business owners and leaders of nonprofit organizations were among those who attended a news conference Thursday regarding the debut of the Downtown Business Alliance of Youngstown, which has goals including:

Encouraging greater business retention in downtown Youngstown and new businesses to locate in the corridor.

Improving the quality of life for those who visit, work and live downtown.

Creating a safer and more attractive business environment.

Undertaking projects to enhance the area’s quality of life.

Providing a platform for stakeholders to identify and address areas of concern.

Enhancing a more- productive relationship with city government.

Calling for a more aggressive, equitable and fair enforcement of all city codes.

Addressing major issues such as better marketing strategies, maintenance, signage, parking, cleanliness and safety.
