Bomb squad checks out suitcase, nothing found

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Police Department bomb squad was busy this morning checking an unmarked suitcase left near the 7th District Court of Appeals building downtown.

Someone left the black suitcase on West Federal Street near Hazel Street early this morning. The unmarked baggage prompted members of the bomb squad to come out, scan and process the bag for explosives.

By 10:45 a.m. members of the bomb squad determined the suitcase contained only abandoned clothes and nothing explosive.
