Lou Vega named interim director of Mahoning County recycling division

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Commissioners this morning appointed Lou Vega as interim director of the county recycling division, known as the Green Team.

Vega, a recycling division statistician, takes over the interim directorship from Mari Wren Petrony, who is resigning, effective Friday.

Petrony, who had been the recycling division’s assistant director, became interim director Jan. 1, upon the departure of Jim Petuch, who retired as Green Team director Dec. 31, after 30 years in litter control and recycling.

The Green Team is housed on the third floor of Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave.
