Minor earth tremor barely felt

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a minor earth tremor was centered in Williamsport on Tuesday, registering a magnitude of 2.3.

The U.S.G.S. says the tremor happened shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday and that its epicenter was in the west end of Williamsport. The Williamsport Sun-Gazette reports police Capt. Tim Miller says the department got no calls and that nothing was felt.

Lycoming County Department of Public Safety Director John Yingling says there were no reports of injuries or damage.

A quake of 2.5 to 3 is typically the smallest felt by people.
