AUCTIONS

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will host an auction of pies and specialty desserts with Midway and Leetonia Mennonite churches at 6 p.m. March 2. There will be a food stand at 5 with sandwiches, walking tacos, drinks and desserts. The event is a fundraiser to send church youth to a summer convention in Phoenix, Ariz. Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club will host its annual quarter auction Feb. 28 at Kuzman’s Bar and Lounge, 1025 State St., Girard. Doors open at 6 p.m., and admission is $5. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Take your own quarters. Vendors featured are Mary Kay Cosmetics, Premier Jewelry, For Every Home, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Avon, Pampered Chef, Lia Sophia, Perfectly Posh, Thirty One and Personalized Etching. BOOK SALES

Salem Historical Society has scheduled a book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Dale Shaffer Library meeting room, 239 S. Lundy Ave. Proceeds will be used to repair the old Town Hall bell now located at the East State Street Centennial Park entrance. Refreshments will be available, and items for sale will include hard-cover books, paper-back books, cook books, children’s books, magazines, puzzles, VCR and DVD recordings and CDs. CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Girard Eagles 2172 Ladies Auxiliary will have a spring card and bingo party at 2 p.m. April 7 at the Eagles Hall, 26 W. Wilson Ave. Doors will open at noon, and a light lunch will be served until 1:30 p.m.

CRAFT SHOWS

NIGHTS AT RACES

Girard American Legion, 11 High St., will sponsor a night at the races and basket auction Saturday to benefit Girard High School robotics team. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the first race is at 7. St. Patrick Youngstown/St. Vincent de Paul will sponsor a Ladies Night Out on April 11 at the Ursuline Center on Shields Road, Canfield. Local crafters with items pertaining to the home are needed. West Side Cats is preparing for its second annual motorcycle poker run July 31 at Austintown Park. Vendors who sell motorcycle related items, pet related items, crafts, art, trash and treasure, etc., are needed. Space rental is $15. Donations are being sought for new items such as gift cards for gift baskets that will be raffled at the event. Bands and food will be available. Relay for Life Team Rachel is sponsoring a trip to Mountaineer on March 23. The bus will depart at 10 a.m. from the parking lot of St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown. Boarding will begin at 9:30. The bus will leave Mountaineer at 4 p.m. and arrive at the church about 5. Cost per person is $30.
