Two die in Lawrence County mobile-home fire

PORTERSVILLE, Pa.

A fire at a mobile home in this Lawrence County community killed two people this morning.

Dead are Phillip James Illig Sr., 49 and Jessica Lynn Morehouse, 28. Their bodies were found in the rubble of the fire at 6247 state Route 488 in Portersville.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the fire that was reported by a passer-by at 2:12 a.m.

The mobile home was fully engulfed when police and firefighters arrived.

Among the units fighting the blaze were the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department, Wurtemburg Volunteer Fire Department, Ellwood City Volunteer FIre Department and Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters and state police continue their investigation into the fire. No cause of it was immediately released.
