Phantoms, Animal Charity team up for fundraiser

The Youngstown Phantoms and Animal Charity are teaming up to raise funds for dogs and cats in the charity’s care.

On Saturday, the Phantoms will have the first Animal Charity night. During the pregame, fans will have a chance to see some of the dogs the society has for adoption in the Covelli Centre concourse.

Animal Charity also will have representatives available to answer any questions and take applications for volunteers and pet adoptions. Monetary donations, pet food and toys also are being accepted.

Animal Charity is a nonprofit organization with a full-service veterinary clinic and is the only humane society in Mahoning County.

Tickets for the game are $10, and can be purchased by calling the Phantoms at 330-747-7825. According to a Phantoms press release, nearly half of the ticket proceeds Saturday will go to Animal Charity. The game starts at 7:15 p.m.
