Band dinner, auction set for Feb. 23

The Canfield Band Parents Pasta Dinner and Chinese Auction Feb. 23 will feature dozens of baskets filled with treasures from around the Valley and the world. Most of these items have been donated by Valley-area businesses.

“This year’s auction also features items from several national corporations, but it’s the local merchants with their local interest who make this auction a success year after year. People will find lots of enticing baskets with the local favorites,” said Kim Urig, chairperson of the Chinese auction. “We are very grateful for the generosity of the local business community in all of our efforts to support the kids and the terrific band programs in Canfield.”

This is the 43rd year for the event. Monies raised from the dinner and auction go to support the kids and the bands through instrument purchases and repairs, uniforms, contest fees and other related expenses.

The event is at Canfield High School. The doors are open from 11-6 and the basket winners are drawn at 4:45. The bands from both the middle school and high school will be playing all day.
