$1M bond set for man charged with killing his uncle


YOUNGSTOWN — Bond was set at $1 million at the video arraignment of a 25-year-old man charged with the murder of his uncle.

Magistrate Anthony Sertick of Youngstown Municipal Court set the high bond today for Emmett Perkins IV, of West Princeton Avenue, at the request of Kathleen Thompson, an assistant city prosecutor.

Perkins’ prior criminal record includes felonious assault, domestic violence, endangering children and misdemeanor assault, Thompson said.

Perkins is charged with shooting his uncle, Frank Whitted, 28, on Tuesday on the city's South Side.
