UAW members to have protest rally

Local members of the United Auto Workers union will have a rally at the Flex-N-Gate plant today to protest working conditions at the company’s nonunion facilities.

Flex-N-Gate, a global parts supplier to automakers, will face similar rallies at seven plants in five states.

The UAW claims the company has illegally fired or disciplined workers who attempted to form a union.

HBA annual show to open Feb. 22

The Home Builders and Remodelers Association of the Valley will host its 62nd Annual Home & Garden Show, Feb. 22, 23 and 24 at Mr. Anthony’s on South Avenue.

Admission is free. The Show opens Feb. 22 at noon and closes at 8 p.m. The show continues Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This year’s event also will showcase the HBA’s 2012 Housing Awards of Excellence winners.

Pictures of their projects will be on display.
