Report: Big Ten to no longer schedule FCS schools
Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez said Big Ten schools will no longer schedule FCS football teams, making the announcement on his monthly radio show Tuesday night.
The decision, if true, would have negative consequences for Youngstown State, which has earned big paychecks from Big Ten schools in recent years and was close to a deal to play Ohio State in 2015.
The Big Ten has not made an official statement. A YSU spokesman said the school was aware of the report but said the team will wait until the Big Ten makes an official statement before commenting.
