A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Jan. 26

Unauthorized money transfer: An unauthorized money transfer of $1,200 was reported at a home in the 60 block of Jade Circle.

Jan. 31

Telephone harassment: Telephone harassment was reported at a home in the 200 block of Bradford.

Feb. 1

Warrant: Police arrested Jacqueline Kather, 22, of 401 E. Montrose St., Youngstown, on an active warrant out of Beaver Township for theft.

Feb. 2

Drug abuse: Police charged Justin Gwin, 25, of 2075 Weir, Warren, with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest in the city.

Feb. 6

Carrying a concealed weapon: Police charged Tyler Tabor, 18, of 2580 Newton Falls Bailey Road SW, Warren, with carrying a concealed weapon after his arrest in the city.

Feb. 10

Drug abuse: Police charged Robert Hacker, 29, of 16360 Mock Road, Berlin Center, with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest in the city.

AUSTINTOWN

Feb. 4

Recovered property: A container with brass and plastic fittings and a gallon of windshield washer fluid were recovered at Oakcrest Avenue and Signature Place.

Breaking and entering: A shed was broken into and a rotary tiller was taken at a home in the 1000 block of Signature Drive. Arrested for breaking and entering are Anthony DiRenzo, 44, of 1745 Overlook Ave., Youngstown, and Jennifer Kolic, 35, of 5120 E. Calla Road, New Middletown.

Warrant: Police arrested Gabriel Artis, 49, of 4483 Deer Creek Court, No. 1, on two Youngstown bench warrants.

Counterfeit currency: A $10 counterfeit bill was recovered at Sheetz service station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Two unauthorized charges were reported at a home on Peggy Lane.

Warrant: Police arrested Joshua Dailey, 20, of 3830 Main St., Mineral Ridge, on a warrant for failure to appear on a probation violation.

Feb. 5

Breaking and entering: Police a summons to Bradley Salus, 35, of 106 N. Osborn Ave., Youngstown, on charges of possession of criminal tools, criminal trespassing and breaking and entering, and arrested James May, 43, no address listed, on charges of criminal trespassing, breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools after their arrest at Uncle Bob’s Storage, 3690 LeHarps Road.

Breaking and entering: A furnace motor and copper were stolen out of a vacant home in the 3000 block of New Road.

Recovered property: A large safe was broken open, placed in the parking lot of Re-Nu, 168 S. Meridian Road, and brought to the police department.

Theft: Police charged Michael Tomlin, 29, of 1619 Wellington Ave., Youngstown, with theft of a $99.99 photo-scanner from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A Colt 1911 pistol was stolen from a home in the 20 block of Peggy Lane.

Warrant: Police arrested Tera Tuchek, 22, of 622 Hazelwood Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant for burglary.

Feb. 6

Breaking and entering: A hot-water tank and light fixtures were stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Woodland Trace.

Theft: A cellphone was taken at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Burglary: Someone broke in to a home in the 6000 block of South Fairview Drive and took clothing and prescription medication.

Theft: Clothing was taken by a male and a female at Dollar General, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Four tires on a vehicle were damaged at Davidson’s Restaurant,3636 Canfield Road.

Theft: Four guns were stolen from a gun room in the basement of a home in the 100 block of Georgetown Place.

Feb. 7

Fraud: A subject bought a stolen Apple iPhone 4 off of Pay Pal for $255 at a home in the 6000 block of Berry Blossom Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: A male was receiving unwanted phone calls at a home in the 6000 block of Heron’s Circle.

Fraud: A woman had several thousand dollars taken from her account at a home in the 6000 block of Fairview Road.

Warrant: Police arrested James Ashworth Jr., 39, of 413 Rockdale Ave., No. 3, Boardman, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation.

Menacing: A male is a suspect in menacing at Triple Diamond Sweepstakes, 1724 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Ronald Johnson, 22, of 397 Redondo Road, Youngstown, for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Obstructing official business: Police arrested Sharon Gioff, 31, of 1125 Salt Springs Road, Youngstown, on warrants for possession of cocaine and obstructing official business, and Damon Clark, 48, of 1201 Donation St., Youngstown, on a warrant for a traffic violation and obstructing official business.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Lisa Richardson, 48, of 53 Spring St., Struthers,for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 8

Theft: A debit/credit card was stolen and unauthorized charges of $577.88 were made to the card at Wedgewood Center, 1749 S. Raccoon Road.

Breaking and entering: Cable wires were cut and taken at a home in the 5000 block of West Webb Road.

Theft: A check was stolen at Mahoning Medical Equipment Inc., 60 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Daryl Ferko, 20, of 580 Notre Dame Ave., on a warrant for theft from an auto.

Feb. 9

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Victor Boone, 22, of Columbus for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Drug offense: Police charged Kenneth Steinberge, 24, of 1552 Grandview Road, Lake Milton, with possession of heroin and drug-abuse instruments, and Nicholas Krueger, 23, of 1673 Delaware Drive, Lake Milton, with possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments after their arrest in the township.

Obstructing: Police issued a summons to Duane Witherspoon, 34, of 4218 Helena Ave., Youngstown, for obstructing official business.

Feb. 10

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Gary Smith, 52, of Shreve, Ohio, for possession of marijuana

Theft: A snowblower was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Bainbridge Street.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to Larry Green, 56, of 105 S. Aldrich Road, for disorderly conduct.

Warrant: Police arrested Mark Isler, 59, of 156 Wilcox Road, on a warrant for fraud.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was spray painted at a home in the 6000 block of Elwood Drive.
