TV station hackers issue zombie alert

GREAT FALLS, Mont.

A Montana television station’s regular programming was interrupted by news of a zombie apocalypse.

The Montana Television Network says hackers broke into the Emergency Alert System of Great Falls affiliate KRTV and its CW station Monday.

KRTV says on its website the hackers broadcast that “dead bodies are rising from their graves” in several Montana counties.

The alert claimed the bodies were “attacking the living” and warned people not to “approach or apprehend these bodies as they are extremely dangerous.”

The network says there is no emergency, and its engineers are investigating.

The Great Falls Tribune reports the hoax alert generated at least four calls to police to see if it was true.

Royals condemn plans to publish pictures

LONDON

Royal officials in Britain have expressed disappointment that paparazzi shots of Prince William and his wife on a beach holiday in the Caribbean may be published by an Italian magazine.

St. James’s Palace said Tuesday that publishing the photos would be a “clear breach of the couple’s right to privacy.”

The photos reportedly show the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge — the former Kate Middleton — wearing a bikini and strolling on a beach with William on the island of Mustique.

The Italian gossip magazine Chi reportedly was planning to publish the pictures.

Last year, William and Kate went to court over a French gossip magazine’s publication of topless photos of the duchess while the couple was on a holiday in the south of France.

‘Modern Family’ star in stage production

NEW YORK

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is heading from modern to classic — the “Modern Family” star is going to star this summer in William Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” in Central Park.

The Public Theater announced Tuesday that Ferguson will play Dromio opposite Hamish Linklater’s Antipholus for five weeks at the Delacorte Theatre starting May 28. Daniel Sullivan will direct.

Ferguson is no stranger to playing Shakespeare in the park, having starred in “A Winter’s Tale” there in 2010 and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in 2007. He and Linklater will play two sets of identical brothers, all equally clueless that their twins are in town and causing confusion.

Linklater, who played opposite both Julia Louis Dreyfus on “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and Alan Rickman on Broadway in Theresa Rebeck’s “Seminar,” also was in that production of “A Winter’s Tale.”
