Up to $7K offered for tips in Ohio twin's death

COLUMBUS (AP) — An attorney and a crime stoppers’ group are offering up to $7,000 for tips leading to the arrest or indictment of suspects in the 2008 killing of a Columbus teen whose twin brother was once charged with the crime.

Derris Lewis spent 18 months in jail before prosecutors dropped the aggravated murder charge against him for the shooting death of his identical twin Dennis.

Prosecutors ended the case against Derris Lewis in 2009 after a test failed to find his blood on a palm print that had been a main piece of evidence at his mistrial.

Derris Lewis also received nearly $1 million from the city and an apology.

Derris’ Lewis attorney has offered $5,000 and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information.
