Suspect identified in city’s latest homicide

YOUNGSTOWN

Police have issued a murder warrant for the arrest of a suspect in the city’s latest homicide, which occurred early this morning.

Police said they are seeking to arrest Emmett Perkins IV in the shooting death of 28-year-old Frank Whitted, who was fatally wounded in the chest at 422 W. Princeton Ave.

Having receiving a 911 call from the shooting scene at 1:34 a.m., police found the victim on the first floor of the residence. Whitted was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he died at 1:45 a.m.

The case is being investigated by Detective Ron Rodway.
