Pa. children's advocate charged with tax evasion
SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — A court-appointed children’s advocate who came under fire from parents in northeastern Pennsylvania who say she billed them for services they didn’t want has been charged with tax evasion.
An indictment filed today says attorney Danielle Ross failed to report income she received from clients while working as guardian ad litem for Lackawanna County Family Court.
The Associated Press left a message for Ross’s attorney.
As guardian, Ross is supposed to advocate for children in custody disputes. Parents complained she trampled on their rights. One disgruntled dad is suing her in civil court.
The Administrative of Pennsylvania Courts issued a critical report on Lackawanna County’s guardian ad litem program last year. The county court says it is making changes.
